                                                                     Americana

It was Friday evening when my husband and I decided to go somewhere. The weather was like on demand. It was not too hot and it was not too cold either. We were in the Glendale city, so the closest and also the nicest place(by my opinion) was Americana. I don’t know if some of you have been there, but I suggest you to going there at least to see it one time. It is nice to see how people at different ages walk around the area. Many of them are with children, in groups of friends, or just being lovely couples.
It is an interesting place with fountains in the center of it. Every 15 or 30 min (I am not sure about the time) it has a small fountain show with music (dancing fountains). I can say it is similar to the Las Vegas fountain show which is located in front of the Bellagio Hotel and of course the show over there was much bigger, longer and nicer. However, I am not criticizing Americana, I am just comparing it. In addition to the fountain there, it has a railroad with the tour train. The train goes around the place; it has a couple stops and the tour guy who’s explaining and introducing the place to the visitors. There is a nice small playground for the children with green evenly cut grass around the playground that children can run, jump, and play on it.
This place has interesting apartments. They were building on top of the stores or shops. I imagined how someone who lives there by the evening time could walk to the balcony and enjoy the place by watching. By the way, there are many small expensive shops like Armani Exchange and Kelvin Klein. And many people who shop there despite the high cost. My favorite store there, I can say is a Barnes and Nobel book store. Time flies by there for me. I usually get a cup of coffee in the book store and enjoy just being around the books. It might sound crazy, but I like the smell of the new books. I can be around there a couple of hours, but for me time will pass like couple of minutes.
Americana has many small food stores and a couple restaurants. When people went to food stores, they enjoyed the fountains while eating there food. This place even has a Pacific Theater with big selections of the movies. We watch the movie “Driver” that day. Please no comments on the movie, because that movie did not impress me…..
So after all that it was good. I know sometimes we don’t have time for us, but in a while we have to go somewhere and enjoy even a couple hours of the free time.
